Our Breakfasts are Always a Favourite
with our Guests
One of our original goals for the inn was to make breakfasts a highlight for our guests. All baking is made "from scratch" with no prepared mixes or commercial frozen items on the menu. Our whole wheat toast bread comes from a local bakery and we make our own jams, stewed rhubarb etc. Since we often missed fresh fruit while traveling, we added a variety of seasonal fruit to every breakfast with emphasis on local berries as we progress through the growing season.
In 2006 our baked goods recipes were made healthier by reducing (or eliminating) saturated and trans fats, sugar and eggs while maintaining all the flavour and appearance for which we have become known over the years. We also began offering additional choices, ( ie turkey bacon with 50% less fat than regular bacon). We are encouraged by the positive comments from guests about these changes.
Your full service breakfast includes:
- choice of juices
- fresh coffee or selection of teas
- daily fresh baked item
- 3 or 4 fresh seasonal fruits
And choice of
- daily hot entree, which today may be blueberry pancakes with local maple syrup, poached eggs with choice of meats, stuffed French toast with fresh local berries or our farmer's casserole
OR
your choices from our cold selections that may include:
- choice of cereals
- fat free yogurt
- whole wheat toast with home made jam
- bowl of fresh fruit
- stewed rhubarb
